Training requirement. (1) On or prior to the first day of the seventh month following the enactment of P.L.2022, c.131 (C.2C:58-4.2 et al.), the superintendent shall establish training requirements in the lawful and safe handling and storage of firearms, which shall consist of an online course of instruction, in-person classroom instruction, and target training administered by a certified firearm instructor on a firing range approved by the superintendent and on the list of approved ranges published on the State Police website. The training shall include, but not be limited to, demonstration of a level of proficiency in the use of a handgun in such manner as required by the superintendent and training, developed or approved in conjunction with the Police Training Commission, on justification in the use of deadly force under State law.Total$0.00Register for trainingRefund Policy: Due to the limited seating and logistics involved in scheduling your training cancellations and changes in scheduling must be made at least 48 hours before commencement of training. Your range time and Instructors are reserved for you for the time scheduled. 50% if cancellation is between 48 and 24 hours of schedule. No refunds if cancellation is within 24 hours of scheduling for private sessions. We ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes early and we give people 15 minutes to arrive and then we start classes. If you are more than 20 minutes late you may be rescheduled for a later class, and there may be additional cost of $82 for the later range session. Cancellations and Rescheduling: If you fail to contact us within a 24hr. period prior to your CONFIRMED Range Session, there will be a $82 fee to reschedule. Qualification failures: If your Instructor recommends that you receive more training to be able to qualify, additional range sessions with the Instructor will be $82 per session and will be scheduled for later dates until you have satisfactory proficiency. No refund if you are deemed ineligible by state or local authorities. You must have a clean record: No criminal, domestic or mental health history, or pending cases in order to apply for licensing. We do the training, we do not approve your applications. Refunds made prior to 7 days of training commencement are subject to a $35 processing fee, plus WP form and credit card processing fees.
